Surf Guitar Instrumentals
Today's surf guitar lick is a simple modal melody decorated with several typical stylistic embellishments. This compact E minor melody is processed with amplifier tremolo and heavy reverb-two effects closely associated with the genre. Furthermore the phrase features a familiar tremolo bar dive-and-return pitch bend midway. The final part of the lick sports two other noteworthy elements. This portion has a pedal point approach with the reiteration of the E note on the open high E string throughout the melody. The final descending slide is tremolo-picked as it is slurred down the fingerboard.
