Today's Lick of the Day is stylistically reminiscent of a lick that guitarist Kirk Hammett from Metallica might use in one of his solos. In the example below you'll be playing the F# natural minor scale ascending the 1st string while hitting the open string twice after every step of the way. The last note of the lick is where you'll bend the 1st string up and grab the second string along with it to create a dissonant overtone that gives the lick a certain amount of tension.
