The guitar instrumental genre is a significant musical development of the 20th Century. A remarkably eclectic genre, it borrows freely from a vast array of styles and sounds, such as swing, blues, country, jazz, classical, rock and ethnic music, and recombines their essences into a new form. Since its inception the guitar instrumental genre has been a potent force musically and an ideal showcase for a wide variety of players.
